Danica Crewing Specialists has subscribed to a comprehensive service which helps to ensure the mental health and wellbeing of our seafarers.

The service is provided by the IMEQ (Innovative Maritime Emotional Intelligence) Centre founded by clinical psychologists. The IMEQ team of experts has developed a comprehensive mental health assessment process especially designed for seafarers which takes 15 minutes to complete anonymously. It can be used as a preventive strategy for ship owning companies to target risk factors that can compromise psychological health onboard ship.

This new tool for owners sits alongside our preferred wellbeing provider, the International Seafarers’ Welfare and Assistance Network (ISWAN), which offers a 24-hour free support service for seafarers.

Henrik Jensen, Danica CEO, comments: “Seafaring is a challenging job and it’s important for crew to recognise when they are struggling and need extra support. The safety of our crew and the ships they serve on is paramount and the IMEQ service is an important tool assisting us in ensuring safe vessel operations.”
