Danica Crewing Specialists is delighted to celebrate the promotion to Captain of one of our long-serving seafarers.

Artem Yarmantovych has become a Captain at the age of 30 and will shortly take up his first posting. Inspired by stories of a career at sea, Ukrainian Artem followed in his father’s footsteps to become a seafarer. He began his career at the age of 17 as a cadet on a dry cargo vessel, and at 18 joined Danica where his first contract was with Nordic Hamburg as an OS.

Artem has now been with Danica for more than 12 years. He has steadily gained experience and taken on more responsibility, rising to Chief Mate at the age of 25.

Career growth was one of the reasons Artem joined Danica. He comments: “I was attracted to Danica because I saw significant potential for career growth and appreciated the excellent communication from their office. Danica has helped my career by giving me chances to grow and take on more responsibilities. They support their employees, which has allowed me to advance in the industry.”

He adds that he would happily recommend Danica to other seafarers: “I would tell them that Danica is a company that truly values its employees, providing excellent communication and support from the office.”

Henrik Jensen, Danica CEO, said: “I am delighted to see Artem reach the rank of Captain. He has worked hard and deserves this promotion and we wish him every success in his sailings.”
